ARTICLE OF THE NIGHT
When I was around 6 or 7 years old, my parents gave me “The American Boy’s Handy Book”, which was littered with instructions on literally everything opposite of my computer obsessed mind was into at the moment – building forts, rafts, and of course, lots and lots of knots. I’d make the assumption that most people these days don’t know how to tie a knot, except for maybe the one on their shoe – but little realize that nations were founded not only on the materials of wood & metal, but string too. A fascinating dive into the history of string, and how it binds us together. Now that I’m older, I really wish I had spent more time with this book (I actually have it somewhere…), as I crave for those simple, responsibility-less days. >>>more<<<
