As sour funky beers gain more traction within the craft beer republic, a lot of it’s terminology is often adopted from our viney cousins in law, wine. A subject of great debate recently has been the the use of the term terroir, typically used to describe the soil, atmosphere, and methods of production for vitners, but in relation to beer. While some argue that because the ingredients used in brewing aren’t grown hyper-locally, the term doesn’t resonate on the same frequency… Now “origin brewed” beer has taken a strong hold, and may well be something we’ll start seeing more frequently.

PRODUCT OF THE NIGHT

I love physical media. Whenever I take a trip, I typically bring along a couple of those disposable cameras – yes, the same cheap ones you’d bring to summer camp to remember those cherished, awkward memories. While I can hold down the scene on my phone, shooting off a violent attack of photos, stored in it’s memory, there’s something extremely special about being able to hold a product of your creation, that will eventually fade to time.
